W. Boring ”, said bond having been lost or destroyed after being assigned in blank, but not witnessed, as required by the regulations of the Treasury Department,

Indemnity bond.

exchange, or redemption: Provided further, That the said K. W. Boring shall first file in the Treasury Department a bond of indemnity in the penal sum of double the amount of the principal of the bond alleged lost or destroyed and the interest which would accrue thereon to the date of maturity, with such corporate surety as may be acceptable to the Secretary of the Treasury to indemnify and save the United States harmless from any loss on account of the bond alleged to be lost or destroyed.
